Check for a leak in two minutes
- Turn off every tap, the dishwasher and the washing machine.
- Open the meter box lid at the curb.
- Watch the small triangle or star on the dial for two minutes.
- If it turns, water is leaking somewhere. Start with the toilets: a few drops of food coloring in the tank that show up in the bowl mean a leak.
